Spring Summer 2015 Fashion Trends

Monday, March 16, 2015

First of all, I'm not really the type of person to follow trends to a tee. I find that it's not so practical because "trends are replaceable". However, once in a while, before each season starts, I'll find some beautiful inspiration online that I have to incorporate in my wardrobe.

Because I live in a four season state, I usually like to follow fashion trends that I "feel" like will last past one season (something I can wear throughout the year, next year, next summer, etc.) You'll see that on this post, some of the fashion trends may be similar to ones from Spring/Summer 2014.
Jumping into topic, here are my picks for Spring/Summer 2015 fashion trends

1. Crop Tops

Specifically, midriff revealing crop tops. Not everyone can have the most toned lower abs, but "many" people can usually show off their tight midriff. It's not just about casually wearing crop tops with your skater skirt anymore. You can wear them during proms, fancy dinners, wedding receptions, etc.

Oscar de la Renta Spring 2015

Diane von Furstenberg, Spring 2015

Erdem, Spring 2015

Delpozo, Spring 2015

2. Flower Power

Wear em big, bold, wear em proud! Basically, if you've ever looked at your grandma's floral wall paper and thought, "wow, that's the ugliest wall paper I have ever seen.", that's probably the print that you should be wearing. Gaining some fashion sense starts from experimenting outside your normal comfort level. Wearing florals are a great way to keep your outfit fresh and feminine.
Michael Kors, Spring 2015

Simone Rocha, Spring 2015

Celine, Spring 2015

BCBG Max Azria, Spring Summer 2015

House of Holland, Spring Summer 2015

3. The Bride To Be

I've always loved the ethereal vibes I get from wearing white. These next two seasons it's about combining soft and structure. White lace is more beautiful than ever. Similar to wearing black head to toe, wearing all white requires mixing and matching textures, fabrics, and pieces. It's all about showcasing the different individual pieces. You don't want to look like a white blob walking in the streets.

Chloe, Spring Summer 2015

Erdem, Spring Summer 2015

Simone Rocha, Spring 2015

4. A Little One Shoulder Action

In my opinion, a shoulders can exude a hint of sexiness without revealing too much. Maybe you've always been a fan of one shoulder outfits like me, but they kinda went away during these past few years. You can take those dresses and tops out of hiding for spring and summer because designers brought them back for 2015!

Jill Stuart, Spring Summer 2015

Rodebjer, Spring 2015

Versace, Spring 2015

Giulietta, Spring Summer 2015

5. The Shirt Dress

If you have "the boyfriend shirt" from last year, you can still wear it this coming spring and summer. However, designers have stretched the limits beyond "the shirt", and added a feminine flare with special touches like double slits and drop waists.
Altuzarra, Spring Summer 2015

Chloe, Spring 2015

Jill Stuart, Spring 2015

Rebecca Minkoff, Spring 2015

6. Sheer almost naked

Weather you like it or not, sheer clothes are not going away any time soon. I've always the loved the airiness that sheer clothes can provide in scorching hot weather. In addition, it adds a hint of mystery to an other wise revealing piece of clothing. This doesn't mean you should be wearing sheer clothes from head to toe. If you're wearing sheer on top, make sure you don't show off too much at the bottom. Wear pants or a maxi skirt. If you don't feel comfortable wearing a sheer top, you can still play along by wearing "paneled" pieces.

Alberta Ferretti, Spring Summer 2015

Ports, Spring Summer 2015

Roberto Cavalli, Spring Summer 2015

Tom Ford, Spring Summer 2015

7. Street Safari

This trend is about upgrading the wild. The type of safari that designers are thinking of includes khaki trench dresses, leather waist belts, and tribal print chiffon.
Ralph Lauren, Spring Summer 2015

Marc Jacobs, Spring Summer 2015

Lena Hoschek, Spring Summer 2015

Giorgio Armani, Spring Summer 2015

There it is! My pick for Spring Summer 2015 Fashion.
